This is my second time having a Desert [name removed] home. I took the first one in 2017 with which I had no problem and in general it was a good experience; with this new house it was the opposite. When the contract was made Desert [name removed] vendor told me that the selection of colors of the house was already there, the cabinets had to be gray (there was extra charge for the color), when I saw the house I noticed that the color of the cabinets are almost black (very different from the color they had told me and of which I have a photo), I asked if they be painted to gray and the response of Desert [name removed] was no, that they were NOT going to paint them gray since it was going to be very expensive and that it was cheaper just to return me the money, I got upset and commented that if they will not paint them I would paint them and I asked if there could be any compensation which they denied me and they only returned the $1400 (I visualized myself in the house with gray cabinets and buying decorations that matched the cabinets). Then on the first walkthrough We noticed some of the tiles were very uneven, when walking on them the floor felt uneven making it uncomfortable to walk, I told the technician who gave the orientation and he only said that he was going to put the note to verify “All floor” because he did not have enough "dots" to put on everything that was poorly placed. We saw many paint details and damaged bedroom doors and closets. On the second walkthrough we saw that the paint and door details were fixed, only the floor was not fixed, Desert [name removed] technician told me that it was OK and within standards and tolerances, I don't know what those tolerances are, only what I know is that it feels too uneven when walking and my fear is that my 2 year old is going to trip and fall due to the tiles and I inform Desert view staff about this on several occasions and they did nothing. On the second walkthrough, I didn't want to sign the sheet because the floor wasn't fixed but the staff told me that I had to sign or the house wouldn't be sold to me. The first time that I entered the house after the closing there were electricity problems, and some other details. [name removed] came personally to check the floor and told me if it was bad (out of spec) and sent someone to place the floor correctly. When they came to change the flooring, the whole house was filled with dust (including my 2 year old's toys) and when they removed floors they damaged other areas of the house (moldings). My house no longer looks new and it is all repaired, they had to wait for me to continue complaining about the floor to come and change it when they could do it before my closing day and avoid all the dust and the day they made me lose to repair it, even so there are still many uneven floors, I have photos of the evidence of everything I am saying. I chose a new house to avoid problems or damage with a used house and in the end it was worse because of all the details it had and repairs that were made for the damage caused, I was left with a very bad experience with this second home Desert [name removed] and it's a shame why I love this floor plan. Leaving aside all the bad I want to recognize 3 people who help me and followed up with me and tried to help me as much as possible, the first is [name removed], who although she was not my sales representative, she was calling me and pending to solve the defects found, another is Mrs. [name removed], who was very kind to come and clean the house when it got dirty with the change of floor, finally to Mr. [name removed], who came to personally check the floor and the details of the house and tried to fix everything as quickly as possible. I had a very bad experience with Desert [name removed], I would not recommend it to family and friends because of the timing and stress they put me and my family through this process.
